If they do not provide any response, then you should check their breathing immediately.
You should also alert the people nearby you to call 911 and you need to start doing chest compressions by kneeling over them, straighten your arms while interlocking your hands, then push at the victim’s centre of their chest, maintaining two compressions per second.
2. Turn On AED Machine And Follow The Voice Prompts
When the AED machine is provided, immediately turn it on and listen carefully to the voice prompts that came out from the machine.
It will provide you the guide on what to do in order to use it.
3. Remove Clothing And Attach Pads
You must remove the victim’s clothing and then you need to make sure that the victim’s chest is not wet.

4. Plug The Pad Connector Cable
Some AED machines will require you to plug the pad connector cable into the AED, while some other types are not needed to do so.
You should make sure that the battery is available for automated external defibrillator use.
5. Prepare To Let The AED Analyse The Heart’s Rhythm
The next step is making sure that nobody is touching the victim, while letting the AED analyse the heart’s rhythm.
Then, you need to say “Clear!” In a loud, commanding voice so that people are aware that you might deliver a shock to the victim.
6. Deliver A Shock If AED Prompts To Do So
Only if the AED determines a shock is needed, you need to proceed to push the ‘shock’ button and press the shock on the victim’s chest.
7. Start The CPR
After successfully delivering the shock, or if no shock is advised by the AED, immediately start the CPR process continuously until the ambulance arrives.
