1. Complete The Check, Call, And Compress Steps

You should also alert the people nearby you to call 911 and you need to start doing chest compressions by kneeling over them, straighten your arms while interlocking your hands, then push at the victim’s centre of their chest, maintaining two compressions per second.

When the AED machine is provided, immediately turn it on and listen carefully to the voice prompts that came out from the machine.

3. Remove Clothing And Attach Pads

You must remove the victim’s clothing and then you need to make sure that the victim’s chest is not wet.

Some AED machines will require you to plug the pad connector cable into the AED, while some other types are not needed to do so.

6. Deliver A Shock If AED Prompts To Do So

Only if the AED determines a shock is needed, you need to proceed to push the ‘shock’ button and press the shock on the victim’s chest.

7. Start The CPR

After successfully delivering the shock, or if no shock is advised by the AED, immediately start the CPR process continuously until the ambulance arrives.
